EDUC3620

Digital Creativity and Learning

Welcome to my blog for EDUC3620. This blog provides information which analyses and evaluates current and emerging technologies used in the classroom. My own opinion and reflections of these technologies will be included as I learn, throughout the course of the unit, how they can be used creatively within a classroom.

Week One: Emerging Technologies.

This week I will be looking at OSMO and will look at the benefits and issues with its use in the classroom.

Week Two: Design Thinking

How design thinking processes are used in the classroom to turn creative ideas into a reality.

Week Three: Computational Thinking

What is Computational Thinking and how does a tiny, electronic square encourage this in education?

Week Four: Robotics

How can robotics be used with young children to engage them in learning?

Week Five: Augmented Reality

How can a combination of virtual and real worlds create authentic and meaningful learning experiences?

Week Six: Virtual Reality

Are those weird looking computer goggles really effective in teaching and how does a virtual world impact learning experiences?

Week Seven: Gaming and Learning

Do computer games really promote learning to occur? or are they just a waste of time?

Week Eight: Constructionism and The Maker Movement

Implementing makerspaces

How can ordinary objects be used to create a fun and engaging lesson?
